Jean is the Clinical Director and founder of Life Journey Consultancy, a vibrant practice that grew out of Life Journey Counselling which was  organically formed as many of Jean’s clients referred their friends and loved ones to receive help from her.

Jean is passionate to see people empowered and nurtured to realise their potentials. She does this at the clinical level as a counsellor and a psychotherapist, and at the educational level as a clinical supervisor and a trainer.

With over 30 years of experience in people-development, education and caregiving, Jean is attuned to the diverse range of mental, emotional, and psychosocial issues and perceptive in providing intervention.

Jean has experience working with all ages. She has taught and counselled children and teenagers in the schools and at private settings. Jean spent 8 years as a counsellor based in a university where she journeyed with young and middle aged adults through deep emotional pain (e.g. trauma, phobias, anxieties, and depression) as well as through the transitions of life (e.g. career changes, relationships, marriage & parenting, existential issues, and personal growth).

Now at Life Journey,  Jean employs EMDR and Brainspotting for trauma work. Jean is a pioneer of Brainspotting in Singapore. As the Clinical Director of Thryve, Jean is part of the team (Thryve and Brainspotting Australasia Pacific) that brought Brainspotting training to Singapore. Jean is also a Practice Coach with Brainspotting Australasia Pacific.

As to loss and grief, she was interviewed on national radio and has provided talks and workshops at corporate, community and educational settings. She journeyed with many through relationship losses (eg. break-ups, and bereavement) and intangible losses (eg. childhood, dreams, and confidence).

Jean is a reputed clinical supervisor, providing clinical supervision at universities, community establishments and through private engagements.

She worked in a voluntary welfare organization, counselling children at risk and doing youthwork under the Enhanced Step-up programmes before a brief stint as a school counsellor.

Geraldine has a certification in Choice Theory and Reality Therapy (CTRT), which she uses in her practice together with experiential arts, to deepen her clients’ processes. She firmly believes in using a strength-based approach to encourage positive transformation in her clients.

Geraldine holds a Master of Social Science (Professional Counselling) from Swinburne University of Technology as well as the Bachelor of Counselling from SUSS (Singapore University of Social Sciences) where she was awarded the Anthony Yeo Memorial Silver Award for academic performance.
